Ethos hosts VIP event to launch limited edition print with RISK for the SSMF

Sunset Strip Music Festival Partners With RISK, Ethos Gallery For Limited Edition Prints
Prints Celebrate The Sunset Strip’s Music And Art Influence

The Sunset Strip is known for its long history of influencing music and the arts. This year, in celebration of this history, the Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) has partnered with Ethos Gallery and graffiti artist RISK to release special limited edition SSMF poster prints.
“Sunset Strip is California to me. I have so many good memories there. From sneaking into shows when I was in high school, to business meetings as a young adult, to having been celebrated as an accomplished artist for painting a guitar for my heroes, The Doors, last year. Being the first of many great artists to create an annual limited edition poster for the Sunset Strip Music Festival is truly an honor! The Strip continues to be a chronological calendar of highlights in my life,” stated RISK.
"Ethos Gallery is proud to spearhead the first SSMF limited edition print with world renowned graffiti artist Risk. Believing in the power of art to commemorate the important moments in our lives was our inspiration for this project. We hope this small piece of the festival will serve as a reminder to all who attended of the magic they experienced in 2013," noted Lisa Falcone, co-founder of Ethos Gallery with Eddie Donaldson.
The 18”x24” prints are numbered and signed by RISK. They will be available online beginning August 1 at www.buckshotprints.com for $100 per print. Only 200 prints are available.
“It is exciting to work with RISK and Ethos Gallery and celebrate the Sunset Strip Music Festival through art. From photography and concert posters to street art, art and music have coexisted on the boulevard for decades. The special prints are a great way to celebrate these two art forms and the music festival,” noted SSMF co-producer and The Roxy owner Nic Adler.
Ethos Gallery is also participating in the August 3 SSMF street festival by curating a live art exhibit. Street artist Gregory Siff will be among the artists participating in painting one of the 10-foot-tall Gibson GuitarTown art guitars, which will be auctioned for charity.

The all-day street festival will feature performances by Linkin Park, Wale, Awolnation, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Logic, Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh, Asher Roth, Finch, Street Drum Corps and more. Proceeds from the festival will benefit Music For Relief, the nonprofit organization Linkin Park founded to support disaster relief, provide aid to survivors of natural disasters and support the prevention of such disasters via environmental programs. ABOUT RISK
In a career spanning 27 years, RISK has impacted the evolution of graffiti as an art form in Los Angeles and worldwide. RISK gained major notoriety for his unique style and pushed the limits of graffiti further than any writer in L.A. had before: He was one of the first writers in Southern California to paint freight trains, and he pioneered writing on “heavens,” or freeway overpasses. At the peak of his career he took graffiti from the streets and into the gallery with the launch of the Third Rail series of art shows, and later parlayed the name into the first authentic line of graffiti-inspired clothing. Ethos Gallery and LAYoga Magazine present Art Contest for New Green Community in LA

Enter our ART CONTEST to become a Brand Ambassador for Valhalla CA and help build a better world.

Valhalla California is taking on the challenge to build a green, eco-conscious self-sustainable community right here in our home city of Los Angeles.  There are already some of these off the grid self reliant communities in places like lush, green Oregon where it seems a natural fit.  Valhalla says we can free ourselves from the power company and food industry right here in the middle of our concrete jungle.  All it takes is a little awareness and the support of some creative leaders.

First order of business?  Valhalla needs a new look.  Ethos is hosting a city wide art contest to find the artist with the best new logo for Valhalla California.  Think green, think LA, think freedom and think future!  The winner will be awarded the title of "Creative Brand Ambassador" for Valhalla California and his/her logo will be used on all marketing materials and merchandising for the company.  You will also be featured in LAYoga Magazine's online art section!

The Valhalla agenda is to build a community of homes in LA that are in complete harmony with nature.  They are affordable, and made from 100% recyclable materials. They produce food, renew energy, and recycle water. The home's temperature is maintained by thermal mass. There are zero carbon footprint qualities and zero emissions.  Valhalla makes it possible for everyone to enjoy sustainable, self-sufficient housing and paves the way for an emerging mindful, eco-conscious global community.

Why ART?  Because Ethos Gallery believes in the power of art to spread a message.  We know everyone wants to be free of unnecessary bills and we want to make sure they know how to get there.  Through artist support, city wide murals, and community events we plan to get the knowledge to the masses the only way we know how....  from the artist to the world.

All artist submissions should be emailed to Ethos Gallery at 4artmedia@gmail.com.

Come meet Valhalla and get more info at MELROSE ART RIDE July 14, 2013 from 3pm-7pm at Ethos Gallery.  7763 Melrose Avenue, LA 90046 or email 4artmedia@gmail.com
